Photographer's highlight #3 Kristine Norlander

Kristine is a teacher at a Norwegian high school, teaching media & communication and art & craft. As well as working at the school she is working on her Masters Degree in Arts & Craft. Kristine's main body of work for her masters is that of mobile phone photography.

Her work has a lot of variation to it, from portraits to landscapes, abstract compositions to still-lifes.

Kristine says, "I use Instagram because it is a fascinating way to express myself. The posts work as daily sketches - where I try to capture some of the things I find beauty in. The quote on my feed "Seeing is forgetting the way one sees" (Robert Irwing) probably sums up my how I work - finding pleasure in abstracting the essence of things...
My techniques are many - some pictures are without edit or filter at all, and some turn out heavily edited. I think it is important for me to play with images more that having a specific style to hold on to. The only rule is #iPhoneonly ;)"

"But Instagram is not only about making images, - it is also about being able to see the world through other peoples lenses, interact and get to know people all around the world based on their visual language. So many people I deeply admire in there - greatly inspiring!"

Here are a selection of photographs and edits  from Kristine's Instagram.
