Big World Reviews #3 Philippe Perrin

In this review i would like to take the time to introduce you to the blog belonging to Hasselblad Master Photographer Philippe Perrin.  Philippe is a black and white specialist based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, originally hailing from Bourgogne, France, 18 years previous to his move to Mexico.

Philippe found his inspiration at a young age from the surrounding landscapes and this became why he love for capturing nature is so strong, making for his many beautiful series of landscapes of forests, caves and mountains. Many of his photographs have been captured using 6x6 and 35mm cameras.

Philippe’s photography has been awarded the Polaroid Award in 1982 and recently the PremioHasselblad Latin-American Photo Competition in the category of Fine Arts Photography for his famous series "Wild Inside" (Lejano Adentro), a body of work that consists of 24 photographs describing the loss of time, with each landscape photograph showing the infinite ratio of nature in human presence.

His work shows the spaces that are familiar but which when he has worked his wonder the scene becomes the wondrous unknown and he does this with such great expertise. One can truly see how much Mexico has taken him in and caught his imagination and one can really get this feeling when looking at his bodies of work. The use of tones and contrasts coupled with the way he sees form and composition, really add the making of is award winning, and deservingly so, works of Art.
This Blogsite is a nicely laid out place to few his works. It is more of a personal website than a blog of kinds but I do like the content and the ease of which i can move about and few his fantastic body of works. On this site one can also purchase some of his works but also find ways to contact him for more information on other works available.

This is a site that is well worth the visit and you to will find yourself looking at his work and see the beauty and total expertise in the way he has captured the landscapes that surround him.
